“Everyone will know that you are my disciples,” Jesus said, “if you have love for one another.”
—John 13:35
We demonstrate Christ's love by caring for our neighbors, both locally and internationally. Trinity works in partnership with community organizations to bring the love of Christ to people in need. You may contact the church to learn more about volunteering with these organizations, or reach out to any of our partners directly.

African Development Partners
African Development Partners is a Charlottesville faith collaboration that promotes local empowerment and economic development in rural Africa. Through African Development Partners, Trinity supports a community development in Kenya and Uganda and an elementary school for orphaned and vulnerable children (the Privilege Academy) in Migori, Kenya.

Blue Ridge Area
Food Bank
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and its food assistance network serve individuals and families in 25 counties. At Trinity, we collect canned goods and other nonperishable foods for monthly donation to the food bank. Remember your neighbors in need when you do your grocery shopping, and drop your contributions in the donation basket in the sanctuary.

City of Promise
City of Promise is committed to turning around generational poverty in Charlottesville by creating a culture of achievement that will enable children and families to thrive. City of Promise provides "cradle-to-college-and-career" support for children in the Westhaven, 10th and Page, and Starr Hill neighborhoods. Trinity members serve as tutors, mentors and gardeners, and also provide office support.

Gertrude Mitchell House
The Gertrude Mitchell House is a single-family home owned by the church and operated as transitional housing for women and children who have encountered domestic abuse. With support from fellow Episcopal churches in the Charlottesville region, and from the Shelter for Help in Emergency, Trinity has been able to help women rebuild their families and their futures. Trinity volunteers help to maintain the flower garden and provide other household services.

Habitat for Humanity
The vision of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville is a community where everyone can find a decent place to live. Trinity members join other volunteers to build and rebuild homes and communities while catalyzing new pathways to safe, decent, affordable housing.

Haven Food Team
Our Haven Food Team works with community partners to cook and serve a monthly meal to our neighbors experiencing homelessness. On Wednesdays our team gathers to prepare lunch for guests at The Haven, a day shelter and housing resource center in downtown Charlottesville. Serving the lunch on Friday gives us an opportunity to get to know our neighbors.

IMPACT
IMPACT (Interfaith Movement Promoting Action by Congregations Together) empowers the faith community of greater Charlottesville to create social change through unified, direct action. Trinity members take part in identifying community problems, developing solutions, and coming together once a year with hundreds of other people of faith to propose these solutions to city and county elected leaders.

PACEM
PACEM (People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry) is a grassroots organization that coordinates space and volunteers to provide for individuals in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Trinity is one of more than 80 congregations and community groups that offer winter shelter to neighbors in need, providing a safe place to sleep, evening meals and companionship.

Refugee Neighbors
Refugee Neighbors is a Trinity-based ministry created to help an Afghan refugee family adjust to life in Charlottesville. This family of six faces challenges in employment and education, learning English and navigating the city—even as they struggle to get two remaining children out of Afghanistan. Trinity members help the family with paperwork, transportation and homework, and invite them out for sports and cultural events.
